The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading all aspects of the NCAA DII baseball program, including recruiting, training, and mentoring student athletes to achieve success in competition, academics, and personal development. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a culture of excellence, integrity, sportsmanship, and inclusion.
In addition to coaching responsibilities, the role includes administrative duties that support the broader operations and initiatives of the athletic department, assigned based on the candidate's experience and strengths. Recruiting Expertise: Proven ability to identify and recruit talented student-athletes who align with the program's values and academic standards. Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with student-athletes, colleagues, alumni, and other stakeholders. Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative athletic department and contribute to the institution's broader mission. Commitment to Student-Athlete Success: Dedication to supporting student-athletes' academic, personal, and professional development. Technological Proficiency: Competence with software and tools related to program management, recruitment, and communication. Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including scheduling, budgeting, and program logistics, efficiently and effectively.
Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
