We provide room and board (almost no expenses all summer), travel reimbursement, internship credit, and a competitive camp counselor salary based on experience. You will also enjoy days and nights off with like minded college-age staff from around the world, with transportation available from camp. Most counselors earn $2,500-$3,500.

Camp Taconic, a co-ed sleep away camp in Western, MA, is currently hiring upbeat and enthusiastic counselors to be role models for our campers this summer. This is the perfect opportunity for student athletes and/or students studying kinesiology, health sciences and sports studies who are looking for a summer internship or job. We provide room and board for the summer, a salary as well as travel reimbursement, internship credit (if applicable) and it is an overall wonderful experience! This is a summer job position, beginning June 20, 2026 and ending August 15, 2026. You will live with a group of campers, ages 7-15 and throughout the summer, your job is to monitor the social, emotional, and physical well being of your campers.
We have a number of activity areas we are still hiring for including BASEBALL, SOFTBALL, GYMNASTICS, general athletics, and high ropes/challenge course. Each specialty counselor will work in one area of camp and teach campers of all ages who are assigned to their area for that period. We are looking for counselors who are passionate, creative and have the ability to teach and develop the campers’ skills in that area. A specialty counselor gets the benefit of working in an activity area that they love, seeing the campers develop skills in that area, and get to be part of a group of campers in a bunk.

Camp Taconic is home to approximately 500 campers ages 7 to 15 and close to 300 staff. We are located in the beautiful Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. With over 100 acres of woods, fields and lakefront, Taconic offers a true haven from city living and a real camping experience. The majority of our campers stay for the full 7 weeks and keep returning summer after summer.
