POSITION SUMMARY: Fordham University seeks an energetic, student-centered, and highly organized leader to serve as Head Men’s Tennis Coach. The successful candidate will lead all aspects of an NCAA Division I men’s tennis program committed to competitive excellence, academic achievement, and holistic student-athlete development within the Jesuit tradition.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: •Provides strong leadership for all areas of the men’s tennis program. •Assumes responsibility for the organization, planning, teaching, and coaching of all practices and matches. •Coaches, teaches, and instructs individual skill development to student-athletes. •Develops and implements a strategic vision for sustained competitive success within the Atlantic 10 Conference. •Utilizes video analysis, recruiting software, and digital communication platforms to support player development and recruiting efforts. •Ensures smooth communication with the Director of Tennis/Head Women’s Tennis Coach on all tennis matters, to include but not limited to practices, scheduling, team travel, recruiting, fund raising and budget management. •Identifies, evaluates, and recruits academically and athletically qualified student-athletes capable of succeeding at the NCAA Division I level and within the University, Atlantic 10 and NCAA policies. •Tracks academic monitoring for student-athletes with the assistance of the Office of Athletic Academic Advising through the completion of graduation. •Fosters a culture of accountability, sportsmanship, academic excellence, and personal growth. •Manages the annual operating budget and respective fund-raising gift account. •Collaborate with Athletics Development staff, alumni, and supporters to cultivate fundraising opportunities and enhance program resources. •Oversees team travel, equipment, and supplies. •Schedules all practices and matches and attends all home and away matches. •Maintains strong relationships with Admissions, Financial Aid, Residential Life, Dining Services and the Development Office. •Commits to adhering to all rules and regulations of the University, Atlantic 10 Conference and NCAA. •Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: •Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree preferred. •Minimum of 4 years collegiate coaching and/or high-level playing experience required. •Ability to work nights, weekends, and travel extensively. •Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance standards. •Valid driver’s license to drive a 15-passenger van to practices and matches. •Must be extremely well organized and highly motivated with strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. •Successful candidates should have a knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit Education.
Minimum Annual Salary: $60,000
Maximum Annual Salary: $70,000
NOTE: Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications, and skills.
