Work Schedule This regular, full-time position will work a variable schedule, including evening and weekend hours, to be determined weekly with the Director of Athletics.
Position Summary Responsible for building, event, and equipment management; determining student athlete eligibility, and serving as Sports Information Director; arranging, coordinating and overseeing team travel; supervision of student employees and event staff.

Physical Demands The job responsibilities are performed in an office area and presentation venues. Travel by car required. The job has intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as independent mobility between work areas, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward (8 - 45 pounds). Typically requires regular use of one or more physical senses of medium intensity and long duration. Must meet reasonable deadlines, quotas or demands for accuracy, and may be involved in some mildly unpleasant situations.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university - please attach unofficial transcripts showing degree attained and date conferred
General knowledge of Sports Information Director (SID) common statistical software platforms and general sports knowledge
At least one (1+) year of practical experience in an athletic department setting
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and problem solve
Ability to accommodate flexible schedule as needed by the department
Demonstrated ability to coordinate team activities
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office software, such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams
Preferred but not Required
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
Supervisory experience
Knowledge of NJCAA building and equipment rules and regulations
Experience with travel and event coordination
Ability to learn scheduling applications
Proposed Salary According to the Kellogg Community College Hay Administrative Compensation program, the 2025-2026 annual salary range for a Manager 2 position, $55,594 to $69,491 to start. The 2026-2027 annual salary range for a Manager 2 position will be $57,262 to $71,576, effective July 1, 2026.

Manage the Miller Building during the regular building hours and evening and weekends as needed
Serve as the public contact for all events associated with the building
Responsibilities also include:
establish and monitor budgets for facility operations
schedule usage of the building and athletics spaces
monitor phones and meet customer service needs, as backup or needed
coordinate security oversight
follow emergency action plans
coordinate facility cleaning before, during and after events
Essential Function: EVENT AND STAFF MANAGEMENT
Description:
Schedule, staff, and coordinate events hosted in the Miller Building and for the athletic events at other home locations
Hire and supervise student employees and part-time workers for building needs and home event management (including evening and weekend events when necessary)
Supervise the Athletics part-time department assistant, including daily workload direction and oversight and performance management and development

Essential Function: ATHLETIC OPERATIONS
Description:
Work with student-athletes to improve their personal and teamwork skills in a competitive intercollegiate setting
Assist coaches in the administration of their duties, including but not limited to:
coordinate athletic team travel
respond to team needs during travel including weather-related and emergency situations
facilitate various aspects of our sports programs, such as:
recruiting operations
campus visits
assisting in the creation of team schedules
issuing athletic letters of intent
scholarships, and
budget oversight
Apply the rules and regulations established by the College, the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA), and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA)

Description:
Certify eligibility of student-athletes as prescribed by the NJCAA and any other governing agencies
Gather, organize, and archive required student-athlete documents
Assist in giving interpretations of NJCAA rules and regulations to coaches, athletic staff, student-athletes, and representatives of athletic interest
