Coker University has teamed up with Bechler Leadership and invites applications for the position of Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This is a full-time, 12-month position responsible for leading and managing all aspects of a successful NCAA Division-II women’s basketball program.
Position Summary: The Head Women’s Basketball Coach will provide leadership, organization, and strategic direction for all phases of the women’s basketball program. The successful candidate will foster a culture of competitive excellence, academic achievement, community engagement, and personal development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and direct all aspects of the women’s basketball program
Recruit, evaluate, and retain qualified student-athletes who align with the University’s mission
Develop and implement effective practice plans, game strategies, and player development programs
Monitor academic progress and promote student-athlete success and retention
Manage program budget, scheduling, travel, and equipment
Hire, supervise, and mentor assistant coaches
Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations
Engage in fundraising, alumni relations, and community outreach initiatives
Promote a positive team culture emphasizing accountability, discipline, and sportsmanship
Previous successful collegiate coaching experience required; head coaching experience preferred
Demonstrated success in recruiting and player development
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Commitment to compliance and integrity within NCAA Division II rules
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
