The University of South Alabama’s Athletic Training department is seeking to hire an Athletic Trainer Supervisor. Interested candidates should apply to be considered. Certification with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA). Supervises athletic trainers, graduate interns in sports medicine, and student assistants to include assigning duties and checking work. Assists and enhances the development of sports medicine program for the University to include injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, Injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student athletes. Administers a variety of advanced athletic training room rehabilitation. Provides coaches with information on weather policy and injury management updates as needed. Provides medical coverage and medical supervision for all organized and specified individual or team voluntary sport tryouts as approved by the athletic director. Maintains daily records and documentation of injuries and treatments of athletes. Works in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needs. Supervises and operates delegated athletic training room facilities to ensure OSHA regulations and university standards. Oversees student assistant working schedules and timesheet management. Responsible for medical supplies inventory. Provides athletic training services for the University’s athletic department including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessary. Assists with the coordination and scheduling of pre-participation physical examinations and medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete.
Bachelors or Master in athletic training. 4 years experience, masters degree is equivalent to 1 year experience.
