The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking a full-time assistant coach. Graduate tuition remission may be possible after one year of employment. Coaching Athletic Assistant duties include, but are not limited to, assisting the head coach with practice and game preparation and coaching, recruiting, academics, fundraising, and the off-season program as well as any duties the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach would need assistance with.
Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications
Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles, including program design, injury prevention, and sport-specific training methods.
Knowledge of track and field and cross-country coaching techniques, event-specific instruction, and athlete development strategies.
Ability to demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and sound judgment in a collegiate athletics environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with coaches, athletic trainers, athletics staff, and campus partners.
Ability to work irregular hours and weekends.
Required Experience:
Experience with intercollegiate coaching in Strength and Conditioning and Track and Field at either a Division I, II, III or NAIA level.
Required Licensure:
Sport specific certification (i.e. USA Weightlifting, USATF Certifications, USTFCCCA Certifications).
Must possess a valid Driver’s License to operate a University/state owned or leased vehicle.
