Reporting directly to the Head Coach of Women’s Gymnastics, this position will coach 1-2 gymnastics events; contribute to daily team operations of the women’s gymnastics program; assist with program logistics, including recruiting, recruiting travel, team travel, team meals; assist with alumni relations, community service, mentoring program and equipment ordering; provide administrative support as needed. Spotting and choreography experience a plus. Coach and teach gymnastics skills and progressions to student athletes at practice and competition. Instill proper technique in all conditioning sessions and practices.
Work with head coach to prepare workouts and conditioning throughout the fall and spring semesters
Evaluate and develop relationships with prospective student-athletes; and assist with planning and execution of all unofficial and official visits
Assist with team travel for competitions – hotel accommodations, meal planning, transportation, etc.; and home competition planning (operations, marketing, ticketing, judges’ contracts)
Assist with team calendar management in Teamworks platform; and planning and organization of team community service.
Assist with gymnast/alumna mentor pairing and ongoing mentoring program management; and fundraising efforts with the Penn Champions Club
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Bachelor of Science and 2 to 3 years of experience coaching gymnastics or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
3 to 5 years of experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience competing as an NCAA gymnast will also be considered.
Strong spotting experience preferred.
The ability to motivate student-athletes, recruits and alumni to support the program enthusiastically.
Working knowledge and compliance of NCAA and Ivy League policies and procedures.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel with the team or when recruiting as required.
