Job Description The Graduate Assistant Coach will perform the responsibilities directed by the head coach and assistant coaches as a swim coach and assistant for administrative tasks. The successful candidate will also be assigned administrative tasks as the lead owner. Technological proficiency would be an asset. The successful candidate will be a positive influence on the swimming and diving team and an effective leader. He or she will provide on- deck coaching daily and work in areas where he or she can provide the greatest benefit. Administrative duties will also be assigned in accordance with strengths.

Other essential functions of the assistant coach: ? On-deck coach at practices and meets ? Weekly group practice schedule will remain the same, so GA will provide coaching for the same athletes on a recurring basis
? Models positive standards of behavior, commitment to team, and attitude to athletes ? Administrative duties as assigned ? Could include ordering meals, tracking practice hours, keeping inventory on equipment, placing equipment orders, coordinating fundraising activities, managing underwater video equipment, and other similar duties ? Driving vans to swim meets (as needed) ? Home meeting setup ? Provide mentorship and guidance to athletes in and out of the pool
COMPETENCIES/OTHER CHARACTERISTICS: To perform the job successfully, an individual will demonstrate the following: Commitment to the philosophy of NCAA Division II level intercollegiate athletics and a dedication to the philosophy and the policies of the University of Indianapolis, the department of athletics and the NCAA. The candidate must have quality writing and speaking skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with student-athletes, parents, faculty, administrators and outside constituents. The candidate should be knowledgeable of NCAA Compliance.
