Job Summary: To be successful at this position the ideal candidate must manage and lead all aspects of a successful intercollegiate NCAA Division III athletic program in order to increase the College’s enrollment and to promote the College’s image throughout the nation.
Key Results and Responsibilities:
Ensure integration of Men’s Ice Hockey program activities to College mission and culture. Recruitment of a wide diversity of prospective student athletes in order to reach the team's target roster size. Retain and graduate student-athletes at a rate higher than the overall college rates in order to generate positive net revenue for the college. Facilitate an environment that encourages development of skills to effectively engage with individuals from various and diverse backgrounds. Coach in a manner that results in successful performance in order to create a positive image of the college in the minds of the community, alumni and other prospective students. Administer all aspects of the hockey program including budget, team travel, scheduling and documentation to ensure the smooth operation of the team and efficient use of the college’s resources. Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) and internal policies and procedures. Facilitate team Community Service in order to present a positive image of the college and to help our student-athletes live one of the Benedictine values of Community Secondary Duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the Athletic Department and efficient use of the college’s resources. Ability to manage staff to foster a cooperative work environment, delegation of responsibilities Manage multiple projects under pressure with composure and flexibility Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and five to seven years coaching hockey and recruiting experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Competencies:
Knowledge of rules, techniques and culture of hockey and NCAA regulations and guidelines related to recruitment and retention of collegiate athletes Demonstrated commitment to inclusive excellence as an expression of the The College of St. Scholastica Benedictine values of Community, Respect, Love of Learning, Hospitality and Stewardship Skill in planning, organizing and implementing athletic programs and activities. Ability to fundraise, build and maintain relationships with parents, alumni and external partners Strong leadership skills Ability to adapt to changing circumstances Knowledge of budget and financial record-keeping practices Ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse student populations. Contribute to an inclusive workplace Establish and maintain effective relationships with team members, co-workers, students, alumni and community Skill in computer applications related to work Knowledge of budget and financial record-keeping practices. Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation. Valid driver’s license. AED/CPR certification within six (6) months of date of employment. Physical Demands and Working Environment:

Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision and distance vision. Need to be able to travel for long periods of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Head coaching experience. Collegiate Coach Managerial experience. Required Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
