Position Title: Head Men’s Tennis Coach
Department: Athletics
Immediate Supervisor: Senior Associate Athletics Director
Funded Term / Work Cycle: 12 months; Full-time
Expected Daily Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; varies
Expected Weekly Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; evenings, weekends, and travel required
Pay Grade: 5S
Salary Expectations: $40,671

Position Summary and Purpose
Provides leadership and oversight for the varsity men’s tennis program, including supervision, recruitment, training, and administration of operations while promoting academic and athletic success and ensuring NCAA Division III compliance.
Education and Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- Master’s degree preferred
Experience
- Three to five years of tennis coaching experience in an educational setting
- College head coaching experience preferred
Essential Functions
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead all aspects of the men’s tennis program
- Supervise assistant coaches and student workers
- Manage hiring, training, evaluations, and discipline
- Collaborate with athletics staff
- Build relationships across campus and community
- Oversee practices and competitions
Data, Technology, and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with NCAA and institutional policies
- Prepare statistics, reports, and documentation
- Coordinate communications with Athletic Communications
Stakeholder and Institutional Support
- Support recruiting with Enrollment and Financial Aid
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes
- Engage alumni and support fundraising efforts
- Represent the College at meetings and events
- Serve as Game Manager as needed
Operations and Technical Oversight
- Submit competition schedules
- Manage program equipment
- Coordinate with Athletic Trainer
- Maintain and secure facilities
Fiscal Oversight
- Maintain accurate financial records and reporting
Strategic Planning and Sustainability
- Lead recruiting and retention strategies
- Enhance competitive performance
- Support long-term program development
- Increase visibility and engagement
Other
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to support institutional goals and maintain a positive environment.

Licenses and Certifications
- Valid Tennessee driver’s license (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Eligibility to operate College vehicles
- Pass NCAA rules test annually
- Maintain First Aid and CPR certification
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
- Ability to navigate campus and athletics facilities
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Evening and weekend work required
- Overnight and out-of-state travel required
- Frequent student interaction in a professional setting
