JOB DESCRIPTION: The Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law seeks a Director of Admissions, Students, and Internal Operations for the Allan “Bud” Selig Sports Law & Business (SLB) Program. Founded in 2014, SLB has expanded over the past decade to include a master's degree (MSLB), a concurrent Juris Doctor (JD) - MSLB degree, and several signature events in the sports industry, including its signature Selig Speaker Series. The SLB Program works closely with ASU's W. P. Carey School of Business, the University's athletics department (Sun Devil Athletics), and several sports organizations in the Phoenix area. The successful candidate will serve in a management role in the department, with the responsibility of supervising and running the day-to-day functions of the SLB Program, overseeing the admissions function of the MSLB degree, and working closely with students in their academic journey and job search.
Essential Duties: The successful candidate will be responsible for and have duties in the following areas: Take a lead role in the admissions process for MSLB applicants Co-teach one course per semester Academic and career advising for SLB students, including oversight of internships, applied projects, and independent studies Provide support for SLB Faculty Provide leadership, supervise, mentor and evaluate staff and student employees Collaborate with Executive Director, Faculty, and COO on curriculum management and course scheduling In collaboration with the Executive Director—manage, monitor and work with Budget Office on expenditures and financial reports Collaborate with ASU Law's Office of Development, the Alumni Relations office, and the Executive Director on alumni relation/engagement efforts Provide leadership to execute all signature SLB events—including: bi-annual Selig Speaker Series, Orientation, Graduation(s), Alumni Board Meeting, Advisory Board Meeting, etc. Ensure student success and program satisfaction Perform other duties, as assigned, to support the goals of the SLB Program and/or the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law
Desired Qualifications: Terminal degree (JD preferred) 5+ years of sports law and/or sports industry experience; Strong network of connections in the sports industry; Experience working with students and young professionals; Experience or ability to build and maintain effective internal and external working relationships; Experience or ability to work with diverse constituencies; Evidence of organizational skills and project management; Evidence of team leadership skills; Experience working with internship and/or job placement; Experience teaching in a higher education setting; Experience working in an Admissions environment or on search teams; and Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities which may include and/or are subject to resolution of conflicts Evidence of effective communication skills Regular use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to: computer workstation/laptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone and associated computer/technology peripherals Receive and participate in regular review of completed tasks for achievement of established objectives This is an in-person position that is not remote.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field including two (2) years managerial experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
