Job Responsibilities will be assigned by the Director of Athletics.
· Teach Physical Education classes each semester.
· Act as a role model for student-athletes, promoting academic success, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
· Direct, hire, train, manage, and evaluate assistant coaches.
· Lead the recruiting process on a national level, with a focus on high achieving and diverse populations.
· Establish and communicate a positive team culture regarding – but not limited to – academic, athletic, and social expectations/guidelines.
· Organize team activities – including practices, competitions, student leadership programs, community service, etc.
· Develop and maintain a functional knowledge of the sport and develop new methods and strategies.
· Develop engagement and fundraising opportunities with alumni, student-athletes’ parents, and other donors.
· Collaborate with Athletic Training Staff and Team Physician to ensure health and safety of student-athletes.
· Collaborate with Sports Performance Staff to develop a comprehensive strength and conditioning program.
· Collaborate with the Facilities Manager and other coaches regarding practice and playing times.
· Collaborate with the Sports Information Office on related matters, to ensure that timely and accurate information is communicated appropriately.
· Collaborate with the Business Office regarding budget planning, control of expenses and team travel.
· Understand and adhere to NCAA and UAA compliance standards.
· Participate and contribute to departmental initiatives.
· Other duties as assigned by Director of Athletics.
