Defiance College, an NAIA institution and member of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), seeks applications for an Assistant Women’s Volleyball Coach.
Under the direction of the Director of Volleyball, responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
In-Game coaching and practice planning and executing
Coach and develop athletes who are in the reserves program
Recruiting student-athletes including identifying potential student-athletes, initial contacts, and coordinating visits
Fundraising assistance
Monitoring strength & conditioning workouts
Assist in developing annual service/engagement projects for student-athletes
Team travel arrangements
Social media
Assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation, academic monitoring, and other duties as assigned
Assist in game management of other sports outside of playing season
The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, NAIA, and WHAC policies and procedures.
A bachelor’s degree, previous coaching experience, and a valid driver’s license are required; master’s degree preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with previous collegiate coaching experience who can demonstrate strong communication skills, successful recruiting experience, and the ability to lead and serve our student-athletes.
