Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Coaches’ responsibilities include, but are not limited to, knowing and abiding by all University, NCAA, and Southern Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching; assisting with practice and game plans; recruiting; monitoring scholar-athlete academic progress; assisting in fundraising; and scheduling. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have a successful coaching record in a competitive lacrosse program. The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the lacrosse program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons. Other job duties and responsibilities are to be determined by the Head Coach and/or the Director of Athletics.

A bachelor’s degree is required, and previous coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.  A valid driver's license is also required. 

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Successful candidates should also be knowledgeable of and committed to the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Title IX, and SAA. The position may require the ability (and safe driving record) to drive a 15-passenger van; the ability to demonstrate appropriate technical skills during practice; the ability to plan, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks; the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Travel required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position requires work in a normal office environment as well as on the lacrosse field, typically running, bending, crouching, and stooping.; use of tools requiring high dexterity is required, as well as occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.; use of office equipment, lacrosse equipment, and an alternative work schedule is also required.
