The Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine serves as a certified and licensed athletic trainer for the men’s basketball program, providing comprehensive healthcare services to Central Michigan University (CMU) intercollegiate student-athletes. This position plays a key leadership role within the Sports Medicine unit and reports directly to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited athletic training program. Four years of full-time professional experience as a certified athletic trainer in intercollegiate or professional athletics. Certification as an athletic trainer in good standing with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). Current licensure as an athletic trainer in the state of Michigan, or eligible for licensure upon hire. Current CPR/AED certification for the healthcare provider (or equivalent). Experience working within a collegiate athletic training environment. Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented setting. Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Comprehensive knowledge of, and commitment to, NCAA and Mid-American Conference (MAC) rules and regulations. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
