DESCRIPTION: The Assistant Women’s Lacrosse Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach in administering all aspects of the varsity Women’s lacrosse program, and providing event management assistance for home varsity contests and special events.
OUTCOMES: Sustained, effective recruitment of qualified student-athletes. Provision of a healthy and aspiring team environment, conducive to positive athletic and academic results. Efficient and thorough administration of College, Department, NCAA, and MAC policies and functions. Positive contributions to York College’s enrollment pursuits and institutional image. Dependable support for the Director of Event Operations for Athletics & Recreation.
Essential Functions: Assistant Lacrosse Coach (80%) Coaching student-athletes in practice and in competition--primarily teaching skills and strategies, providing guidance in physical and mental development, and conveying program values. Provide academic and appropriate personal guidance. Scout, identify, and communicate with prospective student-athletes and their families. General organization, practice planning, travel coordination, etc. Event Management (20%) Assist the Director of Event Operations in event management primarily during periods when Women’s lacrosse is not in season.
Experience and Education Required:
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum of three years of experience in organized, competitive lacrosse.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to coach and teach; appropriate knowledge and effective communication/interaction skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collegiate setting with enrolled and prospective students and their families, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and the greater College community.
Commitment to professionalism and serving as a positive role model.
