The University Athletic Association (UAA), an eight-member NCAA Division III athletic conference, is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Commissioner. The position is a full-time, ten-month position for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years.
The position will be funded through the NCAA Division III Pathway to Excellence Grant.
The Assistant Commissioner will work directly with the Commissioner and other key stakeholders in the University Athletic Association. The position will be responsible for managing UAA social media outlets, overseeing championship operations, facilitating website enhancements and assisting with all external relations.
Primary Media Responsibilities (approximately 50% of role): -Develop a strategy for comprehensive review of UAA web and social media presence. -Execute review of UAA web presence and make recommendations to the Commissioner for enhancement. -Day-to-day management of UAA social media accounts, including development and implementation of an overall branding strategy and incorporation of social media graphics. -Assist in day-to-day management of UAA website.
Primary Governance Support Responsibilities (approximately 20% of role): -Serve as primary liaison to the UAA Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. -Serve primary administrative role in preparation for (and execution of) Annual UAA Student-Athlete Leadership Summit.
Primary Championship Operations Responsibilities (approximately 20% of role): -Develop, oversee and execute the conference's championship operations strategy (e.g., budgeting, conference tournament seeding, managing logistics in conjunction with championship hosts). -Create, publish and share content associated with conference championships. -Manage conference championship trophies and coordinate trophy presentations with host sports information directors. -Provide on-site or remote social media coverage at championships.
Other (approximately 10% of role): -Assist Commissioner in developing relationships that could potentially lead to corporate partnerships. -Assist with planning and execution of UAA meetings. -Other duties and projects, as assigned and based on the candidate's interests.

Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree required. -Strong written and public speaking skills. -Experience with social media. -Experience with graphic design preferred. -Experience with or interest in marketing, promotions or community relations. -Passion for intercollegiate athletics and the student-athlete experience. -Superior organizational, leadership and project management skills. -Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
The UAA is based in Westerville, OH and offers a flexible work structure and environment. Candidate must reside in or be willing to relocate to Ohio. Some travel may be required.
