About the Role
Lakeville SC is seeking a driven and experienced Tier 1 Technical Director to lead our BU13-U19 elite teams and oversee the development of our MLS Next New Tier programming. This role is designed for a coach who excels in high-performance environments and is passionate about developing players to compete at the highest levels of youth soccer.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & MLS Next Oversight
Develop and implement the annual Technical Plan for BU13-U19 Tier 1 teams, ensuring alignment with MLS Next standards and club philosophy.
Oversee MLS Next New Tier clinics, ensuring elite-level training, curriculum adherence, and player development benchmarks.
Serve as the primary technical liaison for MLS Next compliance, player identification, and program growth.
Coaching & Player Development
Directly coach one Tier 1 team, modeling best practices in training, match management, and player mentorship.
Lead the tryout and player evaluation process for BU13-U19 Tier 1 teams, ensuring fair and competitive selections.
Monitor and enhance player development through structured feedback, video analysis, and individualized growth plans.
Coach Development & Curriculum
Recruit, mentor, and evaluate Tier 1 coaching staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Ensure consistent implementation of club curriculum across all Tier 1 teams through observations, training sessions, and coach feedback.
Organize and lead coach education workshops, focusing on high-performance training methodologies and MLS Next standards.
College & Professional Pathway Support
Collaborate with the College Advisory Program to guide Tier 1 players in recruitment, including ID camps, showcases, and coach networking.
Build relationships with collegiate and professional scouts to create exposure opportunities for top players.

Qualifications
Required:
USSF C License w/ intent to work towards USSF A License
5+ years of experience coaching elite youth teams (U13-U19) in competitive leagues (MLS Next, ECNL, NPL, etc.).
Proven track record in player development, with athletes advancing to collegiate/professional levels.
Preferred:
USSF B License
Experience working within MLS Next or ECNL environments.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor coaches and manage high-performance expectations.
Lakeville Soccer Club, established in 1983, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit soccer organization that serves more than 3800 youth soccer players from Lakeville, Minnesota and surrounding communities.
