The Opportunity The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) is a recipient of an NCAA Pathway to Excellence Grant. The Operations Assistant is an entry level position that will work closely with the Conference Commissioner and the Deputy Conference Commissioner.
Administrative Responsibilities 50%
Provide administrative support in the planning and execution of conference initiatives including managing databases and assisting with the preparation of reports.
Work with business/accounting office to ensure timely payment of vendors, staff, officials at championship events.
Assist in gathering, compiling, and maintaining data related to conference operations.
Event Planning & Organization 25%
Assist with the organization and logistics of special events including championships, meetings, and award ceremonies.
Assist the Deputy Commissioner in the planning and execution of sports championships.
Assist in the planning and organization of sports bylaws and conference manual.
External Communications 25%
Facilitate communication between vendors, sponsors, officials, and schools as needed.
Attend CUNYAC and special event planning meetings.
Other duties and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university is required;
Strong interpersonal communication skills;
Strong organizational skills; and
Demonstrated skill with technologies used in education.
Salary
The position is available for the 2025-26 and 2026-27 academic years. The salary is $30,000 annually for 10 months plus a $5,000 conference funded in-kind gift. This is a remote position.

The City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) is an NCAA Division III conference with eight members that reach across all of New York City. Since officially coming into existence in 1987, the conference has been amongst the leaders in Division III with initiatives that focus on the student as much as the athlete in student-athlete. The conference sponsors 18 championships and with the help of corporate partners, the conference has been ahead of the competition.
