Under the Direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs and in collaboration with the Athletic Trainer, directs, provides leadership, and oversees all coaching duties for an interscholastic Basketball Program. Directs and coordinates all aspects of recruitment and training for athletic competition and oversees the planning and fiscal management of program activities.
Assist in the planning and execution of the basketball program at Barstow Community College.
Recruit competitive players.
Plan and direct conditioning, training, practice and athletic performance of student/athlete team members.
Maintain team statistics and records.
Develop and maintain a close relationship with local high school baseball coaches.
Provide compliance with college rules and policies, the Commission on Athletics as well as other applicable regulatory agencies.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have either an Associate's Degree and six years of coaching experience; OR
Bachelor's degree and two years of coaching experience
Must demonstrate a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
All course work and degrees must be from a regionally accredited college or university.
Certificated hourly salary schedule ($62.00 - $67.00) and an annual stipend of $25,000.
