Position: Men’s and Women’s Basketball Intern
Reports To: Senior Associate Commissioners for Men’s Basketball and Women’s Basketball
This internship will provide the opportunity to receive sports administration education and training in one of the premier Division I collegiate athletic conference offices. This position will be exposed to and involved in the ongoing development of West Coast Conference initiatives, providing hands-on experience and learning opportunities, particularly in the areas of NCAA basketball and sport management.
Principal Functions.
80% Primarily support functions and operations of Men’s and Women’s Basketball for the WCC. Position reports directly to the Senior Associate Commissioner for Men’s Basketball and the Senior Associate Commissioner for Women’s Basketball. Examples of associated tasks include:
•Assist with research projections and compilation of pertinent regular season and NCAA Tournament selection dates (NET, ratings services, etc.).
•Assist with monitoring Game Management rules and policies for member institutions (scorer’s tables, bench compliance, uniform and facility compliance).
•Assist with schedule inputting and management through Request.
•Track, analyze and compile comparative game data including statistics relevant to scheduling, officiating, sportsmanship, fouls and other areas of emphasis.
•Monitor and manage institutional compliance with film exchange policies.
•Manage the instant replay and technology platforms during regular season and the WCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament.
•Assist with referee evaluations during the season and post-season.
•Assist with WCC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournament and Pre-season Media events.
•Provide support for Basketball Operations Cabinet and coaches meetings.
•Maintain a composite schedule of non-conference games for the WCC institutions.
20% Assist with sport administration at the Conference. Examples of associated tasks include:
•Assist with other championships, as needed.
•Develop materials for head coaches’ and other sport administrative meetings including post meeting notes and reports.
•Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Information.
The start date of the internship is tentatively August 1, 2025, and the end date is June 30, 2026. This is a 20-hour-a-week internship with hours arranged with a supervisor. The intern will be paid $17.50/hour, and the internship does not include benefits.
This position will be based out of the WCC Office in San Bruno, CA. Some travel will be required.

Preferred Qualifications and Requirements.
Demonstrated experience with the WCC’s core values of integrity, servant leadership, inclusion, excellence, innovation, communication, and collaboration.
Demonstrated enrollment toward, or completion of, a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or equivalent degree required.
Athletics administration and/or sports management experience or related volunteer experience preferred.
Demonstrated high-level proficiency in Microsoft programs (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required. Proficiency and experience with Apple computers and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
Access to a reliable internet connection.
Effective professional communication, both orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of statistical analysis.
Familiarity with NCAA compliance, basketball rules and regulations.
Working knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, the West Coast Conference, and its institutions’ programs and/or higher education preferred.
