The Iowa State University Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Assistant Women’s Soccer Coach. This position will work under the direction of the Head Coach to assist in the daily operations and administrative functions for the Division I program with a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies.
Effectively teach, coach, and mentor to develop successful and well-rounded student-athletes.
Identify and successfully recruit and retain academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes.
Help with pre-game and competition-day operations.
Assist with coordination of facility needs, practice calendars, competition schedules, and administrative projects.
Help ensure academic progress and graduation of student-athletes.
Contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience.
Establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes.
Establish and maintain effective interactions with the students, colleagues, university community, alumni, media and the public.
All other duties for the benefit of the soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach
This position requires strong knowledge of soccer, an excellent work ethic along with exceptional motivational, teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Experience coaching or competing in soccer at a highly competitive level (post high school).
Preferred Qualifications:
NCAA or professional soccer coaching experience with a highly competitive and successful program.
NCAA D1 or professional soccer experience as an athlete.
Demonstrated ability to recruit highly skilled female student-athletes and strong recruiting connections.
