Muskingum University invites applications for a Graduate Assistant position for the Men’s Basketball team. This position is responsible for assisting in the overall coaching and management of the men's basketball team.
This position is expected to begin on August 1, 2025 for the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. Graduate Assistant benefits include a monthly stipend, a full tuition waiver for completion of a graduate degree offered by Muskingum University, campus-owned housing, and a meal plan.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in all aspects of recruiting prospective student-athletes and coordinate recruiting efforts such as, mailings, Front Rush, texts/calls, off campus evaluations, and campus visits
Assist with all practice planning and execution throughout the season
Assist the head coach in game and travel preparations
Assist the head coach with opponent scouting and film breakdowns
Assist the head coach with game preparation
Assist with conducting pre-season, in-season, and post-season conditioning/lifting, within the guidelines and bylaws of the NCAA Division III and the Ohio Athletic Conference

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Undergraduate degree.
Acceptance or ability to be accepted into Muskingum University Graduate Program.
Strong collegiate background in basketball.
Ability to use athletic software, such as Front Rush.
Desire to coach within the NCAA Division III philosophy and OAC and Muskingum guidelines.
Ability to collaborate and participate as an active member of the athletic department and the University community.
Good organizational and management skills.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
