Shenandoah University is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our Volleyball program as a Full-Time Assistant Coach. This is a full-time benefited position on our main Winchester, Virginia campus. This position may also be part-time, dependent upon the candidate's availability and qualifications.
This position will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the volleyball program, including player development, recruitment, practice planning, game strategy, and overall team management. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coaching, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Head Coach with daily team operations and practice planning. Coach and develop student-athletes on skills, strategy, and fitness. Support recruitment efforts by identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes. Assist in game preparation, strategy development, and on-court coaching during games. Maintain knowledge of current volleyball techniques, trends, and NCAA rules. Provide leadership and mentorship to players, promoting academic and athletic excellence. Assist in the development of strength and conditioning programs. Attend team meetings and collaborate with the coaching staff. Ensure adherence to NCAA and university policies and regulations. Assist with administrative duties related to the volleyball program as needed.
