Iowa State University is accepting applications for a Soccer Development Coach to support the NCAA DI women’s soccer program. The successful candidate will show a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations. The position will report to the Head Coach and include the following responsibilities:
Create soccer-specific individual development programs for the student-athletes
Prepare daily performance reports on student-athletes and assist in analyzing the data
Create playlists and study film with student-athletes
Attend practices and games as part of the coaching staff
Support and coach in practice sessions with the women’s soccer program
Coach individual and small-group sessions
Complete and present scouting reports on opponents
Support official and unofficial visits and other recruiting duties
Liaise with support departments such as Operations, Sports Performance and Sports Medicine
Support operations with logistics during team travel
All other duties for the benefit of the soccer program as assigned by the Head Coach
The position will contribute to an environment conducive to the well-being and academic success of the student-athletes and must establish and maintain effective interactions with the coaches, university community, alumni, media and the public.
The ideal candidates will have strong working knowledge of soccer; solid organization, decision making, analytical and database skills; be skilled at managing athlete performance tracking systems; and have effective teaching, coaching and mentoring skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Must be available and flexible to work evenings and/or weekends and to travel with the team to assigned competitions.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree. Experience coaching soccer at a highly competitive level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for a NCAA collegiate soccer program. Strong experience preparing soccer athletes for performance/competition. Experience with film breakdown and scouting reports.
