Position Purpose Under the guidance and direction of the Director of Esports (Operations), the Operations Associate is responsible for execution of the following areas - Association Operations; Member Services; Media; Awarding; Strategic Planning; Partnership Assistance; Governance; Activations; Data Collection, Maintenance, & Review; Processes & Operations; Member Support; Governance; Rule & Document Maintenance; Additional Duties Assigned
Duties and Responsibilities Take on the role as an expert on association rules, activities, processes, and the competitive platform. • Gain expert knowledge on association rules and regulations which allows them to successfully guide members through disputes, rule discussions, live support, and more. Additionally, must know when to ask for assistance when dealing with rules and regulations in a timely manner. • Ability to utilize the association’s chosen competitive platform to correctly and efficiently perform all platform tasks without direct supervision and review. This should result in minimal mistakes or delays. Additionally, must be able to efficiently find temporary fixes for platform issues while coordinating with the platform’s technical team to create permanent solutions. • Understanding of how to put together and communicate all association activities, updates, announcements, and releases within a reasonable or set timeline. • Successfully complete assigned tasks with little supervision and direction within an acceptable time. Tasks may be very open ended without any sort of defined direction. Take initiative in regular operational tasks with little oversight and direction. • Personal planning, organization, and tracking system for tasks. • Assist in execution of association competitions, tournaments, and activities as required with little oversight. • Creation and Management of association activities within required timelines. • Assist in leading association Committee and member meetings. Will be assigned to lead certain committees as an association liaison in whole or in part. • Assist in identifying, leading, and execution of tasks generated by association Committees, Membership, and Administration. • Assist in the execution of recruiting campaigns aimed at increasing membership Assisting in creation and disbursement of association National Office, and Committee communications. • Management of the official association Discord Server. • Assistance in support, dispute, and violation processes within a timely manner. • Assistance in management of association Game Rule books and Competition Rules. • Support association strategic partners to ensure terms of partnership agreements are satisfied. • Assist in scheduling calls and information sessions with prospective members. • Assist in community management. • Execution,collection, maintenance, and management of data. • Assist in execution of marketing and social media campaigns. Strive for clear, professional, and direct communication to members, participants, partners, and association staff. • Assist in communications to ensure members understand all game schedules, rules, results, and recaps by posting correct information in a timely manner. Association support. • Support association members, partners, and other identified parties by providing information and assistance as needed. Creative problem solving focused on current and future needs with little direction. Assists Director of Esports (Operations) and association partners in the execution of physical tournaments as availability allows. • Assist with remote and LAN event documentation as directed. All additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Education, Experience, and Skills Associates Degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Understanding of Microsoft Office and Google Suite, specifically Google Documents and Google Spreadsheets. Understanding of Computers, Gaming Systems, and Software with the ability to learn new programs and software quickly. Experience with tournament operations, tournament platforms, governance, customer service, and member-facing communications. The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
The ability to establish and maintain collaborative, effective working relationships with team members, member colleges, institutional leadership, directors, student-athletes, participants, and the public. Problem solving skills, judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in evaluating information. The ability to write effectively and efficiently. The ability to work as an individual and as part of a team. Must be efficient and organized with a high level of attention to detail.
