Concord University is seeking a head football coach to lead its NCAA II program. This is a full-time, benefits eligible 11month position and will report to the Athletic Directors.
The Head Football Coach will be responsible for building and sustaining a strong, competitive program that upholds the highest standards of integrity, athletic excellence, and academic success. This role requires a leader with strong strategic vision, management expertise, and exceptional relational and communication skills to foster team cohesion, motivate student-athletes, and promote a positive image for the program.
Duties and Responsibilities *Create and implement a comprehensive strategy for elevating a successful football program, demonstrating excellence in recruiting, training, game preparation, and student-athlete support *Provide supervision and mentorship to assistant coaches, ensuring alignment with the program’s vision and goals. *Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations and have a history of successful compliance. *Identify and recruit talented student-athletes who can succeed academically, socially, and athletically; embody the university’s values; and contribute to a positive team culture. *Establish a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes academic achievement, personal growth, athletic excellence, and sportsmanship. *Assist in preparing budgets and controlling expenditures and ensuring maximum utilization of funds. *Foster relationships with alumni, donors, the community, and friends to enhance all modes of support for the program, including financial. *Assists in selecting and developing qualified individuals to serve as assistant coaches in the program. *Other duties as assigned and required
Bachelor’s degree is required, Master’s preferred.
Valid driver’s license
Required Skills *Coaching experience on the collegiate level. *Demonstrated ability in recruiting and motivating quality student athletes. *Excellent communication, management and organizational skills. *Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, as well as the demonstrated ability to adhere to such regulations. *Basic computer skills *Evening, weekend and overnight hours required. *Strong leadership and motivational skills with the ability to inspire and connect with student-athletes and assistant coaches.
