Muskingum University invites applications for an Assistant Athletic Trainer. This position is an active part of the professional Athletic Training staff that provides services to Muskingum University's student-athletes and teams. Muskingum currently offers 25 varsity sports, with 20 competing at the NCAA Division III level. Muskingum competes in the Ohio Athletic Conference, which is the third oldest athletic conference in the United States.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides professional assessment to assist in the prevention of athletic injuries.
Evaluates, diagnoses, cares, and rehabilitates injuries for student-athletes.
Provides or arranges for the appropriate medical coverage of varsity and junior varsity athletic practices and competitions in both the traditional and non-traditional seasons.
Under direction of the Head Athletic Trainer, partners with local hospital systems.
Maintains and supervises athletic training room operations, including record keeping, inventory of equipment and supplies, and budget control.
Attends and participates in department meetings.
Represents Muskingum University at OAC meetings, as needed, and within the athletic training community.
Abides by all policies and procedures set forth by the Ohio OT/PT/AT Board, the NCAA, the OAC, and Muskingum University.
