GENERAL OBJECTIVES:
The Assistant/Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Academics will assist the Director of Athletics in planning, supervision and conduct of all NCAA and club sport athletic programs. Responsibilities include ensuring the institution maintains compliance with all NCAA, Conference, State and Institutional rules and regulations as well as overseeing and implementing a comprehensive student-athlete academic support system and supervising specific sport programs within the department as a sport administrator, if applicable.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide administrative leadership over the areas of compliance, academic services, enrollment, and student-athlete services. Oversee institutional/departmental compliance with NCAA, Conference, State and institutional rules and regulations. Manage the submission of all required reports and documentation to the NCAA and conference. Maintain the departmental drug testing policy in accordance with NCAA and conference requirements. Serve as sport administrator for assigned sport programs and oversee the assigned team’s operational budgets, assist coaches in fundraising and alumni engagement, and oversee the operation of events/contests, if applicable. Supervise athletic scholarship budgets and application of athletic aid to student athlete accounts in accordance with all NCAA, Conference, State, and institutional requirement. Oversee the department’s efforts to support student-athletes academically, increasing their academic success, retention rates, and graduation rates. Implement and uphold processes to guide at-risk student-athletes toward academic recovery. Develop and implement professional development programming for student-athletes Ensure all Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities disclosed by student-athletes meet all NCAA, Conference, and institutional requirements. Collaborate with other departments on campus in efforts to provide a positive student-athlete experience (Housing, Financial Aid, Admissions, Advising, Career Services, Student Services, and other student-facing departments). Serve on the Conference Compliance Committee. Serve on DBU’s NCAA Compliance Committee. Other administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree or higher Agrees with the mission and vision of Dallas Baptist University At least 3 years of leadership experience within collegiate athletics At least 3 years of experience within NCAA Compliance Familiar with all NCAA DI and DII bylaws and institutional policies implemented to uphold them
