Position Summary: Monmouth University is seeking an Assistant Cross Country/Track and Field Coach in the Athletics department.
The candidate would expected to: Oversee training of the track and field/cross-country student-athletes throughout the year; schedule and plan for track meets as required, including making travel arrangements for the team and meals when needed; direct student-athletes with event-specific instruction at practice and at meets; oversee recruiting (official visits, calls, emails) and coordinate recruiting efforts with other staff members.
Required Degree, License or Certifications: Bachelor's degree, Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence, CPR and NCAA recruiting certification must be attained within six months from date of hire
Required Skills or Software: Must be able to utilize a variety of computer software programs in order to successfully complete assigned tasks, Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, Must be able to treat confidential and sensitive information appropriately, Must have an understanding of the University's concern for academics as well as athletic excellence
Required Years of Experience: 3
Other Requirements:
Three (3) years of coaching experience at a high school or college level in cross country and indoor/outdoor track and field, or four (4) years competing on a collegiate level in the sport of cross country and track field.
Demonstrated coaching and recruiting success. Thorough knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
A valid driver's license in your state of residence and have had no serious violations (Type A) within the past five (5) years and no more than three (3) moving violations (Type B) in the past three (3) years. University Policy found here: Monmouth University Vehicle Use Policy.
This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
Preferred Qualifications: USA Track and Field (USATF) Level I recognition or higher.
