This is a full-time position with benefits. Salary range is $55,000 - $60,000
Serve as Head Women's Ice Hockey Coach, build, lead and coach an American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division 1 women's team! Purdue Northwest will begin competition in the sport of Women’s Ice Hockey in the 2025-26 academic year. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. Plan, organize, recruit and develop the Women's Ice Hockey programs. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to academic oversight, fundraising, and coordinating of camps and coaching clinics.
Coach the Women's Ice Hockey Division I team in game competition in the ACHA.
Direct daily practice during the prescribed season
Oversee hockey program, responsible for the development of the ACHA Division 1 teams
Supervise Assistant Coaches
Recruit prospective student-athletes
Lead team travel
Construct competition schedule with approval of the Director of Athletics
Assist with academic monitoring of student-athletes
Assist the Director of Athletics with public relations and fundraising activities
Direct summer camp
Education of Head Coach, Women's Ice Hockey
Bachelor's degree.
Degree in Sports Management, Physical Education, Education, Fitness or related program is preferred
Experience of Head Coach, Women's Ice Hockey
One year of ice hockey coaching experience required at the professional, college or high school level
Core Competencies of Head Coach, Women's Ice Hockey
Must have strong team building/management skills
Ability to work across academic and administrative departments in a cooperative manner
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to coordinate collaborative efforts
Demonstrated experience in program development, management, and leadership
Ability to interact with members of the public and media
Ability to supervise regular and temporary staff
Understanding of the student-athletes' commitment to academics
Ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. frequently, and up to 20 lbs. occasionally
Must have a valid driver's license
Must be able to use personal vehicle to drive on behalf of the University
Must meet the Minimum Driver Qualifications as defined by the Use of Vehicles for University Business Policy
As a part of the job responsibilities associated with this position, knowledge of rules and regulations set forth by the ACHA and conference should be maintained, reviewed and practiced to ensure compliance.
