The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the men's basketball program. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the program, including recruiting, team training, practice organization, and game strategy. We are looking for an individual who is not only passionate about basketball but also committed to fostering an environment of academic and athletic excellence. Key Responsibilities
Recruiting: Identify, evaluate, and recruit prospective student-athletes. Maintain and update a recruiting database. Organize on-campus visits and manage communication with recruits.
Coaching & Training: Assist in planning and conducting practices. Develop training programs focusing on strength and conditioning. Support in-game strategies, scouting opponents, and video analysis.
Program Administration: Coordinate travel arrangements and team logistics. Plan and execute camps and clinics. Assist in monitoring student-athletes' academic progress. Engage in fundraising activities and community outreach.
General Support: Maintain facilities and equipment. Provide technical support for video and data analysis. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
Qualifications Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Experience: Minimum of three years of coaching experience at the college or high school level, or equivalent combination of education and playing experience. Certifications: CPR/First Aid certification (can be obtained on the job). Other Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for recruiting and travel purposes.
Preferred:
Previous coaching experience at the NCAA Division III level. Strength and Conditioning Certification (e.g., CSCS).
Physical Requirements
Ability to perform physical activities, including walking, standing, and demonstrating basketball techniques. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. Occasional travel for recruiting and competition.
