The Associate/Senior Associate AD, Contracts will play a pivotal role in managing and negotiating contracts within the Arizona Athletics Department. This position is essential in ensuring all contractual agreements align with the department's strategic goals and comply with legal and regulatory requirements, particularly in light of recent legal decisions and evolving revenue-sharing models with student-athletes. The Contract Professional will collaborate closely with coaches, vendors, university officials, and student-athletes to secure favorable terms and mitigate risks.
Duties & Responsibilities
Contract Management: Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of all contracts related to student-athletes.
Risk Assessment: Evaluate potential risks associated with contracts and propose mitigating strategies, ensuring compliance with recent legal rulings such as the House and Oliver cases.
Revenue Sharing Compliance: Ensure contracts reflect current revenue-sharing models with student-athletes and comply with applicable laws and NCAA regulations.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work collaboratively with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, and external parties to understand their needs and provide effective contract solutions.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all contract negotiations and final agreements.
Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to contract management within the athletics department, considering recent legal precedents.
Training: Provide training and guidance to department staff on contract-related matters, best practices, and the implications of recent legal decisions.
Financial Oversight: Work with the finance department to ensure contracts are financially viable and align with budgetary constraints.
Dispute Resolution: Work with our Office of General Counsel to address and resolve any contract-related disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, Sports Management, or a related field.
Seven years of experience in compliance or contract negotiation.
Preferred Qualifications
Juris Doctor (JD) or Master of Business Administration (MBA.).
