Defiance College, located in northwest Ohio, seeks qualified applicants for the position of Head Volleyball Coach. The Defiance College Yellow Jackets will officially join the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) on July 1, 2024 for competition in the 2024-25 academic year and will become full members of the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC).
Applicants should possess a strong coaching background as a women’s volleyball coach with demonstrated success as an energetic recruiter. The individual will be responsible for the total operation of the volleyball program under the supervision of the athletic director. Volleyball responsibilities include game/practice management, recruiting, budget management, scheduling, fundraising, development of camps and clinics, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach of an intercollegiate program, including supervision of assistant coaches and student workers. Additional expectations of this position include mentoring of student-athletes and commitment to their academic progress and degree completion; knowledge of and commitment to all NAIA, WHAC, and institutional rules and regulations; game administration duties; and some departmental and campus committee work/involvement.
A Bachelor’s Degree is required (Master’s Degree preferred), previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience, and a valid driver’s license. This is a full-time position.
