Essential Functions
Job Summary
Function: Responsible for assisting with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the athletics compliance office.
Scope: Responsible for understanding and interpreting NCAA rules and regulations as well as initial and continuing eligibility guidelines in order to help facilitate and promote institutional control.
Duties
Typical:
Assist with the daily operations of the Athletics Compliance Office.
Serve as the primary Compliance Office contact in the absence of the Assoc. AD- Compliance.
Monitors the recruiting process, including but not limited to, Official and Unofficial Visits, phone calls, contacts, and evaluations.
Responsible for developing and maintaining a comprehensive Rules Education program for coaches, staff, and boosters.
Attend NCAA meetings/seminars/conferences as needed; actively participate in AAC conference calls and meetings.
Maintenance of all required NCAA and AAC forms.
Responsible for administration of NLI program.
Provide rules interpretations to coaches and staff.
Monitor all sports recruiting calendars and recruiting activities.
Monitor personnel limitations in regards to NCAA rules; educate all new staff members on NCAA rules relevant to their position.
Update Athletic Department and compliance policy and procedure manuals as necessary; maintain Athletics Compliance website.
In conjunction with coaches and team administrators, monitor and maintain team rosters.
Research, write, and submit waivers and violations to NCAA.
Work with NCAA Eligibility Center on initial eligibility issues.
Assist with compliance calendar of responsibilities and assignments for Athletics Compliance staff.
Assist with textbook distribution process for student-athletes.
Assist with complimentary admissions assignment and distribution for student-athletes.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Periodic:
Update Athletic Department and compliance policy and procedure manual.
Give presentations to various groups on NCAA rules and regulations.
Schedule, organize and take notes during Athletics Council meetings.
Work with Faculty Athletics Representative, SAAC, and other institutional groups on compliance matters.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
Two years of experience in NCAA compliance, may include experience in NCAA National Office or Conference Office.
Personal computer and standard office equipment.
Driver's license history check.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Sports Management or related field or JD.
Four years of experience in NCAA Division I Compliance and/or in a Collegiate Athletic service environment.
Experience using LSDBi, CAi and ARMS.
Working Conditions
Normal office conditions.
Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
This position will be primarily located on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
