The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is accepting applications for the position of Director of Compliance. This is a career, full-time position with a targeted salary range of $85,000 – $92,000/year with full health benefits and membership in the UC Retirement Plan. The Director of Compliance reports directly to the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Student-Athlete Services. Primary responsibilities include monitoring compliance with NCAA, Conference and UCLA rules and regulations; supervision of 3 full time staff members; researching NCAA rules, case precedent and interpretations; drafting waivers, violation reports and NCAA submissions; providing rules education; administration of playing and practice seasons; time demands education, monitoring and policy upkeep; and other duties as assigned.

All applicants should demonstrate the following abilities and requirements:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required; Excellent candidates will demonstrate an eagerness to learn on the job and work hard to excel in the position.  Candidates should have experience conducting research, possess superior critical thinking skills, and demonstrate strong organizational abilities; Experience working with NCAA Compliance at Division I intercollegiate athletics level preferred; Working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations preferred; Experience working with Teamworks, JumpForward and Compliance Assistant preferred; Working knowledge of sports and athletes, specifically, UCLA sports, will provide value; Ability to perform duties with a great degree of accuracy, meet deadlines, work effectively under conditions of frequent interruptions and fluctuating workload; Analytical skill to evaluate information, identify and resolve problems; Ability to work effectively in teams and independently required; Ability to attend competitions and events at night and on weekends, as necessary, required; Strong verbal and written communication skills required; Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with coaches, students, other staff members and campus administrators.
