The Sports Information Director is responsible for managing gameday coverage, media relations, website editing, social media monitoring, and stat keeping of all varsity athletic programs at Illinois College. The Sports Information Director is responsible for day-to-day coverage of varsity sporting events and will collaborate with the office of Marketing and Communications to develop video and graphic design content for the Athletic Department.
Essential Functions:

Lead and operate all aspects of an effective and efficient information sports information department
Collaborate with the Office of Marketing and Communication on the digital marketing and creative service needs of the Department with an emphasis on video, photography, and graphic design
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and Director of Marketing and Communication on the vision and direction of athletic communication and marketing strategic plan
Serve as the primary media contact for multiple athletic teams including stating live events, award nominations, and assisting in social media content
Maintain and update the MWC and NCAA on individual statistics for all intercollegiate athletic programs
Maintain information on Athletics webpage to include: updating scores, providing game recaps, coach/player interviews and live broadcasts, archiving player and game statistics, & maintaining a history and record books for all athletic teams
Play an active role in the operation of special events including senior days, The Illinois College Sports Hall of Fame, alumni games and other alumni celebrations
Assist in development of department policies & procedures as pertaining to athletic communications
Oversee the press box/scoring tables for athletic contests
Manage professional and student staff
Assume additional administrative responsibilities within Athletics Department, as assigned by the Director of Athletics
Maintain a high level of professionalism toward student athletes, other coaches, parents, administrators, and members of the community
Adhere to all Illinois College, Midwest Conference and NCAA rules and regulations
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, required
2-3 years of experience in a sports communication office or related field
Proficiency working with video editing and graphic design software programs: Adobe Creative Suite including but not limited to Premier, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, preferred
Experience working with statistical softwares such as StatCrew and NCAA Live Stats
Intercultural competency; ability to work with individuals of diverse backgrounds
Strong oral and written communication skills
Able to develop and maintain collaborative relationships, engage in creative problem solving, and extend enlightened hospitality when working with others
Ability to work weekdays, weekends, and some evenings
