Job Description:
General Summary: Responsible for hiring and supervising all event staff, including ticket and concession stand student employees. Responsible for all game day operations including tickets, concessions and set up. Develop a comprehensive plan and strategies for marketing and promotions for all SPU Athletic events. Manage departmental needs at Interbay Stadium, Wallace Field, and Royal Brougham for practice and gamedays. Oversees fan engagement activities on campus, in the local community, and with other partners. Campus liaison for building set up for campus events. Evening and weekend work required.
Job Duteis Include:
Hires, supervises and manages staff and the operations of all athletic facility events, including ticket sellers, ticket takers and concessions stand staff, and other necessary game staff.
Manages needs for all athletic spaces including Royal Brougham, Wallace Field and Interbay.
Provides administrative services, including but not limited to, registration and organizational support for special events such as Halftime in the Club, Falcon Golf Classic, Athletic Awards Banquet, post season tournaments and other events as necessary.
Manages game day set up including visiting team liaison, facility set up and staffing.
Manages ticketing system, including game day ticketing and assist with season ticket holders.
Manages concession stand operations including purchasing, inventory and staffing for athletic events.
Manages team and administration gear printing, maintenance and distribution.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with community groups, such as schools, churches and youth organizations to generate interest, support and increased attendance. Uses these groups, and others, to promote and advertise camp participation and create increased registration numbers.
Coordinates production and maintains records of all event tickets, including season tickets, utilizing ticket software and overseeing online orders, telephone orders and drop-in sales. Serves as liaison between Athletics Administration and Season Ticket Holders. Works with Virtual Merchant on credit card sales and proper balancing of sales at end of workday.
Coordinates the promotional operations of all SPU athletic events; including but not limited to scheduling of half-time entertainment, time- out activities, theme nights, and coordination of sponsor involvement.
Coordinates with other University departments for promotional activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
At least 2 years of full-time administrative experience.
Strong computer skills, experinced in Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Event Mangement Software or ticketing software, a plus.
Excellent communication skills, and ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coaches, athletes, students, faculty, administration and the community.
A maturing and contagious Christian faith, knowledge of and the willingness to actively support the Christian mission of the University and accept the life-style standards for employees.
Additional Information:
Position will remain open until filled.
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 DOE
This is a full time position with excellent benefits. SPU pays the employee premium for medical, dental, and vision insurance. SPU makes generous contributions to an employee HSA account and a 7% contribution to a retirement account, for eligible employees, with immediate vesting in the plan. Tuition discount program (50% - 90%) available for the employee and qualified immediate family members.
