The Assistant Director of Marketing, in collaboration with the Director of Marketing/Fan Experience and Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing, will work under broad policy guidance and exercise sound judgment when making critical decisions under varying degrees of pressure. This position will serve the Athletic Department and the community on a day-to-day basis in addition to serving all marketing related needs of their assigned sports. This individual will need to work cohesively with coaches and other internal staff groups regularly to achieve objectives. This position will also oversee the marketing interns and street team. This individual will also serve as an integral team member, contributor, and collaborator for the external and creative units. This position will be responsible for the oversight of the ISU Redbirds app including application upkeep, making sure branding standards remain consistent, serving as the contact with SIDEARM sports, and creating notification for upcoming events. This position will be responsible for digital ad creation including the conceptualization and creation of the marketing department’s digital advertising assets within pre-determined brand standards.
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in marketing, business administration, communications, public relations, or a closely related field. 2. Two (2) years of full-time or part time equivalent professional work experience in marketing, public relations, communications, brand management, or a liaison role in an Athletics department, which may include a Graduate Assistant position. Note: Master’s Degree in an area consistent with the duties of the position may be substituted for one (1) year (12 months) of work experience. 3. Availability to work nights, weekends and holidays. 4. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
