The Athletics Business Operations Coordinator provides direct financial and business operations support to coaches and administrative staff of assigned areas within Athletics and Student Recreation. This position will help coordinate the daily operations of the Athletics Business Office with a primary focus on the procure-to-pay lifecycle and revenue and expense reconciliations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare purchase requisitions, professional service agreements and act as custodian of contracts for assigned financial units within Athletics and Student Recreation. Reconcile and prepare expense reports for departmental travel credit card. Monitor spousal travel and calculation of fringe benefit for the Vanderbilt University Payroll Department. Serve as primary contact for setup, processing and reconciling expenses related to the student-athlete funding program. Partner with Athletics Compliance office to manage the Student Assistance Fund Reviews daily ticket deposits for accuracy, reconciles to daily bank deposit activity and troubleshoots issues in coordination with Athletics Ticket Operations staff. Work with Vanderbilt Learfield IMG College Sports Properties to manage and reconcile department trade program. Serve as secondary contact for athletics department camp processes; assists with camp and clinic reconciliation process. Research questions regarding accounts payable from vendors, athletics department personnel and others. Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree is necessary. Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. Experience in an NCAA athletics business office preferred. Knowledge of basic accounting and business principles is necessary. Strong analytical and problem solving skills is necessary. Working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is necessary. Strong work ethic, organizational and time management skills is necessary. Must be a self-starter and show the ability to work independently. Good communication skills and must be able to work with all levels within the organization is necessary. Ability to interact with employees and vendors in a professional manner is necessary.
