As a member of the Notre Dame Athletics team, the Assistant Athletics Director, Marketing is primarily responsible for driving revenue through the sale of tickets, VIP experiences and premium hospitality packages for the Notre Dame football, men's basketball, women's basketball and hockey programs.
We are seeking an experienced team member who will incorporate innovative marketing strategies to drive revenue and increase fan attendance. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate clearly across all platforms and work diligently to create, initiate, manage and direct marketing strategies to promote sales, create awareness, generate interest, maximize attendance, generate revenue and enhance the overall fan experience. Integral responsibilities include the development of promotions and ticket sales initiatives designed to increase attendance, revenue and fan engagement. Direct or supervise the planning and execution of revenue-generating initiatives such as online auctions and e-commerce merchandise sales that provide unique fan experiences and opportunities. Direct the department's comprehensive digital marketing efforts used to create awareness and ticket sales with a focus of growing the department's database and utilizing modern and strategic techniques and tools to better engage and generate incremental revenue. In addition, this position will assist with football game day events and other special events as assigned. This position will assist in the management of the annual marketing and promotional budget and work with the department's assigned multi-media rights holder to fulfill marketing benefits secured by official sponsors. The position will also represent the Senior Associate Athletics Director at various meetings as necessary.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for constructing, implementing and executing strategic content, marketing, and data campaigns designed to drive revenue centered on the sale of tickets, VIP experiences and premium hospitality packages. Construct campaigns for the purposes of customer acquisition, expansion and retention. Manage end-to-end of simultaneous, highly-targeted, digital marketing campaigns. The campaigns will leverage digital and direct marketing assets including email, social media, webinars and sponsored events, paid search, display ads, retargeting and direct mail. In concert with the data, content, creative, sales and execution teams, develop personal and targeted segments to promote highly targeted content and messaging centered on specific campaigns.
Plan, develop, and implement comprehensive paid media strategies to convert social audience to directly purchase and/or to drive new leads through appropriate channels including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and email campaigns. Analyze marketing data (campaign results, conversion rates, traffic etc.) to help shape future marketing strategies. Suggest and implement new promotions, ads, competitions etc. to develop brand awareness, grow the audience and increase engagement. Direct and optimize paid, in-kind and traditional media assets.
Collaborate with department leadership to establish annual campaign goals. In conjunction with internal and external teams, create, initiate, manage and measure marketing campaigns to meet the financial goals of the athletic department.
Responsible for the leadership, training, coaching, performance and evaluation of the marketing staff.
Understand our audience and build content that drives customer engagement and traffic. Determine and evaluate key measurables including Cost Associated per Lead, Online Marketing ROI (return on investment), Customer Conversion Rates, ROAS (return on ad spend) and other KPI's (key performance indicators).
Work closely with Marketing team to strategize, maintain, and executive a 30-60-90 day communications timeline using diverse channels of communication.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree (4 years)
5 to 6 years experience in external marketing with a preference in professional or collegiate athletics
Ability to prioritize and meet competing deadlines independently
Ability to manage multiple task simultaneously, while remaining organized, efficient and calm under pressure
Proven experience planning and implementing strategic and targeted marketing campaigns is required
Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Possesses effective project management skills
Professional verbal and written communication skills
Must have a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience overseeing a marketing/sales staff level preferred
