Under the general direction of the Associate Vice President/Director of Athletics, the Senior Associate Director/COO (Sr. Associate AD) will plan, direct, and manage the departments operations including Intercollegiate Athletics (ICA) programs, business administration, and facilities. The Sr. Associate AD will assist the AVP with the development of policies and procedures. Specific areas of responsibility will include sports administration, facilities management and rentals, capital projects, game-day management, and other administrative responsibilities. This position will also supervise several head coaches, selected sports as a sports supervisor, and other administrative responsibilities. The Senior Associate Athletic Director will also serve as the Chief Operating Officer for the department and share responsibility for adapting program activities, services, and practices to correspond with the needs of the Athletics Department; the University's service area; and the dynamics of the institution. Primarily focused on administering established policies and procedures but may have some impact on departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change. This position is a full-time administrative position.
This position requires equivalent to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and at least five (5) years of experience in college athletics, which has included training and supervising the work of other. This position also requires experience working with a diverse and multicultural population and performing community services.
