The Assistant Coach, Men's Lacrosse is responsible for working with the head coach to monitor the success of the lacrosse program.
This includes monitoring the health and well-being of the student-athletes and developing and building a positive team culture. The Assistant Coach will assist with recruiting, team travel, alumni affairs, program planning, help with daily operations.
The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing and implementing the Men's lacrosse program including:
- Assist in organizing, supervising, and conducting practices, scrimmages, games
- Organizes and directs individual and small group player development workouts
- Assist with determining game strategy after scouting upcoming opponent and assessing our team and individual skills.
- Models sportsmanlike behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
- Responsible for organizing recruiting efforts including but not limited to upkeep of recruiting software, attending games/events to recruit quality student-athletes, maintaining a professional relationship and consistent communication with the recruits throughout the recruiting process.
- Assist in all aspects of program planning including spring training trips, road trips, prospect days, prospective student-athlete visits, team bonding activities, etc.
- Coordinates HUDL game film exchange.
- Commits to and is responsible for adhering to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the College, the USA South Conference, and the NCAA with the utmost integrity.
- Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletic department and attend department meetings/activities.
- Conduct student-athlete individual academic progress meetings and communicate that progress with head coach.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.
- Regular and predictable attendance is required.
- On-site work is required.
Incumbents must remain relevant in the area of employment and flexible to changes in work related to institutional needs.
Education and Experience
- Successful incumbents will have a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
- Previous men's lacrosse coaching experience required with experience in recruiting highly desired.
Licenses and Certification
- Valid Georgia Driver’s License (or obtained within 30 days of hire date) and satisfactory MVR.

- Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
- Strong service-oriented skills and the ability to have an exceptional customer service attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately and effectively with computerized data systems.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both written and oral which transcend diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and relate well to students, parents, faculty, staff, and others while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
- Knowledge of NCAA and NCAA men's lacrosse compliance rules.
- Ability to collaboratively and effectively work in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Environmental, Physical, and Visual Acuity Factors
Essential functions and responsibilities of this position require incumbents to be subject outside environmental conditions with no effective protection from the weather. At times, exposure to extreme heat and humidity are to be expected. Incumbents will be exposed to noise levels that will require them to shout to be heard above the ambient noise level.
The essential functions and responsibilities of this position require incumbents to walk or move about on foot to accomplish tasks; stand or to remain upright on the feet for long periods of time; talk to express and exchange ideas; and to hear to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels. Incumbents will perform light work where they will exert up to 20lbs of force occasionally; up to 10lbs of force frequently, and a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Essential functions and responsibilities require incumbents to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles and/or heavy equipment.
