Summary of Job Duties: Responsible for assisting the head coach in the management and administration of an effective and efficient baseball program. The position reports to the Head Baseball Coach.
Qualifications: Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and previous experience coaching baseball.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position:
Knowledge of all aspects of the game of baseball. Familiarity with university policies regarding athletics, Division II baseball programs, Lonestar Conference rules, and NCAA rules and regulations. Successful completion of the NCAA coach's exam.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include recruitment and coaching of athletes, assist in the management of the program budget, scheduling team travel; game preparation including the implementation and direction of pre-game routines, and field maintenance. Oversee fitness and conditioning drills, implement and supervise conditioning programs Monitor academic progress toward degree of student-athletes in conjunction with the compliance office and faculty athletic representative. Supervise student managers.
Other Job Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and to provide leadership for subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance. Ability to act as a role model to athletes and to demonstrate professional decorum and serve as a positive ambassador of UAFS Athletics.
Additional Information: Working Relationships: Work in a dynamic team of diverse faculty, staff, and students in a fast paced, growth-oriented collegiate environment. Frequent contact required with boosters, personnel from other agencies and institutions and the general public.
List Employees Supervised: Student managers.
Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an outdoor setting. Frequent travel and extended hours required. Coaches may be called upon to assist with fundraising for the athletic department and to provide staff support to the other sports programs during their respective seasons. Valid driver’s license required.

UAFS’ beautiful 170-acre campus features 20 major buildings and the Donald W. Reynolds Campus Plaza, Tower, and Campus Green.
