Reporting to the Chief of Athletic Advancement, the Assistant Director will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of the annual fund, corporate sponsorships, fundraising events, tickets, and alumni relations for the LIU Athletic Department.
Responsibilities:
1.Serve as a team member for all athletic Advancement activities; Alumni Relations, Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Special Events to increase donor participation and philanthropic support to Athletics.
2.Assist the Chief of Athletic Advancement with the development of a comprehensive advancement plan for the Athletic Department.
3.Coordinate with individual sport coaches to determine a comprehensive advancement plan inclusive of constituent engagement, communications, events, solicitation and stewardship for each sport.
4.In conjunction with the University Annual Giving Team, develop a comprehensive solicitation strategy for mail, phone, text, email, and in-person solicitations to drive annual revenue to the Athletic Department.
5.Manage Digital Strategies for Solicitation & Stewardship Efforts: Serve as the day-to-day lead on all integrated digital fundraising campaigns (Mobile Cause), including planning, execution, performance tracking, data segmentation, creative direction, editorial review and approval process management.
6.Develop strategies to define and expand the Athletic Department’s Shark Nation Club and other special giving clubs in support of LIU Athletics.
7.Develop a suite of collateral materials to support athletic fundraising inclusive of event invitations, annual giving solicitations/brochures, and Case for Support materials.
8.As part of the Athletic s Advancement team, establish key working relationships with Athletic Department personnel, specifically the Athletic Administration and coaches of individual sports.
9.Other related duties as assigned by the Chief of Athletics Advancement and/or the Athletic Director.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree required, masters preferred
•Three years relevant experience with a proven track record in advancement or athletics preferred
•Preferred experience with Mobile Cause fundraising platform or similar digital giving platform
•Top-notch relationship building skills and internal organizational skills is a must
•Experience in higher education and managing multiple projects in a fast paced environment is preferred
•Experience in college athletics and NCAA Division I institution is preferred
•Flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, are required to execute the position’s role successfully
•The ability to work effectively with diverse groups
