The Coordinator Athletic Compliance, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, assists in the design, development and implementation of departmental processes and/or programs. Recommends policies and procedures to ensure effective coordination of departmental programs. Monitor all coaches’ recruiting materials, including contacts and evaluations, distribution of recruiting calendars, as well as countable athletically related hours (CARA) and playing and practice seasons for compliance with NCAA and ASUN rules and regulations – Develop and ensure annual recruiting certification for all countable coaches – Process official and unofficial visit requests of prospects, including transcript evaluations and auditing – Monitor prospects in the Eligibility Center; provide support to coaches in evaluating preliminary initial-eligibility worksheets, assist with walk-on eligibility and tryouts, as well as vetting student managers and male practice players – Serve as housing liaison for the department – Provide compliance office support to Student-Athlete Center for Excellence (SACE) in monitoring incoming freshmen and transfers to make the admission and transfer process smooth – Help coordinate life skills programming for student-athletes on an annual basis, including drug and alcohol, NIL and other programming to enhance the student-athlete experience and develop them into global citizens – Provide assistance with monthly Rules Education planning and presenting to coaches and staff on NCAA and ASUN rules and regulations and compliance requirements – Coordinate annual updates to the Student-Athlete Handbook, as well as ensure currency and accuracy of the compliance website – Coordinate camps and clinics approval and monitoring – Coordinate internal athletic department orientation for new coaches and staff – Maintain and ensure knowledge and understanding of the NCAA recruiting and eligibility rules and provide support to coaches and SACE staff – Access and update the NCAA databases, compliance software (ARMS, CA), and Eligibility Center, ensuring completeness, currency and accuracy of all information – Process medical hardship waivers and assist in other waivers as assigned – Serve on the Athletic Certification Committee – Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics, or the designated supervisor of this position. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.
