The University of Mary Washington, an NCAA Division III institution located in historic and vibrant Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking a part time assistant tennis coach. This position will be required to assist the head tennis coach with practice and game preparation including, but not limited to, coaching, recruiting, academics, fundraising, and the off-season programs. In addition, this position will be responsible for administrative duties at the University Tennis Center and provide tennis instruction at university sponsored tennis clinics during the academic year. Graduate tuition remission may be possible after one year of employment.
Ability to recruit, coach and teach highly talented student-athletes.
Ability to adhere to all policies, rules and regulations of the university, the Coast to Coast Conference and the NCAA.
Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions, and other outcomes.
Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Ability to communicate effectively – orally, by phone, in person, and in writing.
Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
Ability to represent the department and University in a friendly, courteous and professional manner.
Prior tennis coaching experience or participation at the collegiate level
