Purpose of Position
Responsible for assisting in administration of all areas related to the success of a Division I Intercollegiate Softball program.
Essential Functions
Recruiting student-athletes on and off campus.
Supervising academic progress of student-athletes.
Scouting of opponents.
Serving as a liaison to the Diamond Club (Softball Fundraising Arm).
Coordinate clinics, volunteer activities and fundraisers for the softball program.
Involvement in the El Paso softball community.
Scheduling of games.
Planning, management, and evaluation of softball practice.
Developing strategy and bench coaching during softball matches.
Assisting with administration of softball summer camps and the planning of conditioning programs.
Assisting with the development of post-season and summer individual improvement programs.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree Required
Softball coaching and/or playing experience of at least one year.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and skill relating to the game of softball.
Public relations and promotion skills.
Knowledge of NCAA and C-USA Rules and Regulations, including recruiting, eligibility and certification.
