Richmond United, a national Top 15 ECNL club, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional for the role of Boys ECNL Director and Head Coach in the U13 & U14 age groups. As a coach, this person reports to the Technical Director and is responsible for the development of Richmond United players according to the Richmond United Methodology and Player Development Philosophy. As the Richmond United Boys ECNL Director, this person is responsible for the overall oversight of the Richmond United Academy Administrative Staff and the management of all daily administrative aspects of the Richmond United Academy program.
Essential Coaching Duties & Responsibilities:
Serve as the Head Coach of two (2) Academy teams – the U13s and U14s
Design and execute daily training sessions (minimum of 4 training sessions per week per team) in accordance with Richmond United’s methodology and player development philosophy
Responsible for the management and coaching of players during games in accordance with Richmond United's methodology and player development philosophy
Perform video analysis to improve individual and team performance
Create Individual Development Plans for players and offer support and feedback throughout season
Provide mid-year and end-of-year comprehensive player evaluation review to each player
Responsible for clear communication with the Richmond United ECNL coaching staff, players and parents
Collaborate with and assist other staff members (Technical Director, Staff coaches, Support Staff) in all areas of club and program operations and development
Attend, assist and support other Richmond United Boys teams and events as requested by the Technical Director
Be involved in the talent identification process for the Richmond United Boys program and within affiliated clubs
Administrative Functions:
Lead and manage the Richmond United Academy Administrative functions
Serve as the primary point of contact with the ECNL and ensure that all ECNL requirements are met in a timely manner
Provide administrative oversight and ensure that all administrative functions in the club are completed as necessary
Conduct weekly staff meetings to address any administrative and operational needs
In cooperation with the Richmond United Academy Senior Management & Technical Director, create and manage a yearly Academy Budget that accurately reflects Richmond United Academy revenue streams and expenses
Provide any relevant information regarding Richmond United Academy operations as requested by the Senior Management
Maintain up-to-date and accurate accounts of all Richmond United operational expenses
In cooperation with Technical Director conduct Academy wide start-of-the-season and mid-season parent meetings to provide an overview of the Richmond United Academy program and to have a Q & A session with the parents as deemed appropriate
Responsible for planning, staffing and executing Richmond United Soccer Camps
In collaboration with Technical Director develop practice/game schedule (practice times, locations, times)
In collaboration with Technical Director, schedule and lead additional events/international trips
Ensure that Richmond United Academy continuously works towards achieving its established objectives while staying true to the Club’s vision and mission
Required skills, experience & abilities
Bachelor’s Degree.
Minimum USSF B License. USSF A License or foreign equivalent preferred
Experience of working in a high performance soccer environment preferred
Additional expert knowledge in other areas of youth development preferred (for example Goalkeeping, Sports Performance, Video Analysis, Child Education, Psychology or Social Media)
Ability to work as part of a team in a high performance environment
Excellent leadership and communication skills
High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
Ability to consistently work evenings and weekends
